Using PMImage

PMImage is the graphical interface to the Configuration Image Facility. To use PMImage:

  1. Open the DevTech folder to reveal the PMImage object.
  2. Open the PMImage object to display the PMImage main window.

    Use this dialog to backup and restore your computer's environment, and to manage your repository sets. You can create and use any number of repository sets to save various computer environments.

    The Quick Actions area at the top of the dialog provides you a swift means to backup, or restore, your desktop using the repository set selected in the Default configuration drop down list box.

    The Configuration definitions area at the bottom of the dialog displays the list of existing repository sets, along with their generation histories and remarks.

  3. To create a new configuration definition, select New configuration from the Actions menu. PMImage will open the repository's settings notebook. Editing this notebook is described in the following pages. Click OK when ready.
  4. To copy an existing configuration definition, select Copy configuration from the Actions menu. PMImage will open the repository's settings notebook. Edit the notebook as desired, then click OK.
  5. To edit an existing configuration definition, select the repository name in the Configuration definitions area of the dialog and select the Edit configuration item from the Actions menu. Alternatively, double-click your <left mouse button> on the repository name in the Configuration definitions area of the dialog.
