If Lotus SmartSuite for OS/2 Warp 4 traps in PMWINX.DLL

If you are using SmartSuite for OS/2 Warp 4, you may experience a trap in the Open32 code, PMWINX.DLL, when attempting to launch 1-2-3, Approach, or Organizer for OS/2 Warp 4. 
 

    You can solve this problem by temporarily disabling DeskMan/2's frame controls for these specific products. To do this, follow the procedure outlined below. 

    To disable DeskMan/2's frame controls for 1-2-3, Approach, Organizer: 


    1. Open the DevTech folder.
    2. Open the DeskMan/2 PM Extensions object.
    3. Click on the Debug tab.
    4. Check the "Inhibit DevTech menu" checkbox
    5. Close the DeskMan/2 PM Extensions application.
    6. Open Lotus 1-2-3.
    7. Open Lotus Approach.
    8. Open Lotus Organizer.
    9. Return to the DevTech folder and open the VUEMan/2 object.
    10. From the Edit menu, choose Window IDs to open the Window ID Editor.
    11. Find the Window area (upper left) in the Window ID Editor.
    12. Click on Lotus 1-2-3, if it isn't already selected
    13. Click on the Window ID tab, if this tab isn't already selected.
    14. Uncheck the "Window ID must match" check box located at the bottom of the panel.
    15. Click on the PM Extensions tab.
    16. Check the "No DevTech menu" check box.
    17. Click on the Save button at the bottom of the panel.
    18. Repeat steps 11-17 for Approach and Organizer.
    19. Close the Window ID Editor and the VUEMan/2 window.
    20. Return to the DevTech folder and open the DeskMan/2 PM Extensions object.
    21. Click on the Debug tab.
    22. Uncheck the "Inhibit DevTech menu" check box.
    23. Close the DeskMan/2 PM Extensions application.
    24. Close the DevTech folder.
    25. Close 1-2-3, Approach, and Organizer.

    You should now be able to launch 1-2-3, Approach and Organizer.  If you have any DeskMan/2-related problems after following this procedure, please contact DevTech for additional support. This problem should be resolved in a future OS/2 FixPak.
